Guardiola returns for final session this week

Coach Pep Guardiola has returned for Barça’s final training session this week after attending the Elite Club Coaches Forum organized by UEFA. Piqué and Adriano spent the session working separately.

The final training session for the first team this week took place with Pep Guardiola present, who missed the two previous sessions while he was in Nyon, together with other coaches from around Europe. Due to the number of internationals absent, the first team again held a joint session with the reserves, who on Sunday visit Cartagena (18:00).

Without the 14 players currently with their national teams, pitch no. 2 of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper has seen five first team players present: Fontàs, Pinto, Maxwell, Puyol and Afellay, though the latter three are still without medical clearance. The injured pair of Gerard Piqué and Adriano Correia have continued their recovery work outside of the group.

The first team will have three days off, returning for their next training session on Tuesday morning at 9:30 in Sant Joan Despí. The next match for Barça is on Saturday at Anoeta against Real Sociedad (18:00), corresponding to the second day of the League.
