What’s different about this game is not only that it’s the first game of the season, already a ‘Clasico’, but that for the first time in awhile, the team is traveling to the game’s hosting city on a different day than that of the game.
Is it a new habit for this season, or is this game an exception for special reasons? No clues are readily apparent. Perhaps the motivation for the travel change is the game itself, as the team will be playing the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, the home stadium of Real Madrid, Barça’s rival for the cup. Here is the ‘voyage’ plan of the first team:
Saturday, 13th of August, the blaugrana expedition will leave from the Camp Nou at 18:00h (Barcelona time) with the destination of El Prat Airport where they will be leaving on a charter flight at 19:00h to Madrid.
At 20:00h on Saturday, the team will arrive at the Spanish capital and will go to their hotel – Hotel Eurostars.
The game will be played on Sunday the 14th of August at 22:00h and directly after the game is over, the team will head back to Barcelona at 01:25h, arriving exactly one hour later in the Catalan capital.
