Cesc Fabregas, the midfielder from Arenys, has become the newest FC Barcelona player after signing for the next five seasons. Cesc will have a buyout clause of 200 million euros.
It was just minutes past 12:30 when Cesc Fàbregas has signed his contract with FC Barcelona that will keep him at the blaugrana club for the next five seasons. The signing, which was held at the offices of the club, was attended by president Sandro Rosell, as well as vice president of sport, Josep Maria Bartomeu, the sporting director for professional football, Andoni Zubizarreta, and director of football, Raül Sanllehí.
As is traditional after signing a contract with Barça, Cesc appeared at the door of the offices of the club for a photo with the Barça crest. The expectation for this event was huge, with many photographers and television crews waiting to capture his image. Sandro Rosell, Josep Maria Bartomeu and Andoni Zubizarreta also took part in the picture taking session.
Cesc passes his medical exams
Cesc Fabregas, early this morning, has been examined at the Hospital de Barcelona and, afterwards, at the Centre Mèdic at the Camp Nou. He passed both parts of his exam.
Cesc Fàbregas is in perfect condition. Ricard Pruna, first team doctor, assured that “all the test results have proved satisfactory.” The player from Arenys has undergone a thorough review, including a complete analysis of blood and urine and different types of strength tests. “He passed X-rays, scans and ultrasounds,” he explained.
It will be a long day for Fàbregas, who had to wake early as at 7:50 this Monday morning he was present at the Hospital de Barcelona, on his way to passing the first part of the medical tests. While there, attended by doctor Ricard Pruna, the player signed his first autographs for the fans who made an effort to be at the Hospital.
Afterwards, around 11 in the morning, the player had moved on to the Camp Nou to finish up the rest of the examination. At the Centre Mèdic he completed his strength tests, with the optimal result, and Ricard Pruna commented that Fàbregas “can be integrated [into the team] without any problems at the training sessions.”
